McAdenville is in the top 10 among all schools for student proficiency and ranks second among elementary schools. We also met our academic growth expectations, earned a B letter grade, which is difficult to achieve, and increased our science and math proficiency scores.
McAdenville Elementary
Located in Christmastown U.S.A., McAdenville Elementary serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade and ranks second among the top elementary schools with the highest student proficiency.
Providing care for students at school
Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually. This allows us to provide care for students without them having to leave school to go to the doctor.

Parent representatives from our schools participated in the fall semester Parent Advisory Council meeting on October 6.
The Board of Education will meet on Monday, October 19, at 5:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Schools Central Office, 943 Osceola Street, Gastonia. The public is invited to attend. National School Bus Safety Week (October 19-23) is an active and evolving public education program and an excellent way for parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties - to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety.
Friday, October 16 is an Optional Teacher Workday, which means no school for students.
Stuart W. Cramer High School and the Raging Storm Band Boosters will host the Gaston County Schools Marching Band Fanfare on Saturday, November 7 at 3:00 p.m. The event features all 10 Gaston County high school bands.

Academics
We're proud of our strong academic program. In recent years, our students have met growth in both reading and math on the North Carolina End-of-Grade tests.
Community School
McAdenville Elementary is a true neighborhood school. We work closely with the town, local businesses, churches, our active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and the McAdenville Women’s Club. These partnerships help support our students and create a strong connection between the school and the community.
A Bright Tradition
Each year, one student takes part in a special tradition to “flip the switch” and turn on the Christmas lights, kicking off the holiday season in our community.
Clubs and Activities
Our students take part in academic clubs, including Battle of the Books, math masters, robotics and literary events. They also enjoy hands-on experiences in our Innovation Station through science experiments, LEGO building and other creative projects that make learning fun and engaging.
